Bugema University wishes to announce a one day ICANN Bugema Youthcom workshop on Internet Governance that will be facilitated collaboratively between ICANN Staff, ICANN Fellows and Internet Governance leaders.
The theme of the workshop is: Towards Creating the Next Generation of Internet Governance Leaders.
About ICANN Youthcom
Since 2016, YouthCom has been one of ICANN’s key initiatives in the region, aiming to introduce people under thirty to ICANN and the larger Internet ecosystem. It complements the global ICANN NextGen and Fellowship programs, by strengthening them and creating local youth networks that will benefit from ICANN’s leadership through trainings and guidance.
The workshop is open to applications received from September 23rd, to September 30th, 2019 and is set to take place on October 10th, 2019 at Bugema University main campus.
This workshop is open to the Youth (18-45) from any stakeholder group including but not limited to: technical community, academia, civil society, government, private sector, legal fraternity.
To be considered for the fellowship, a candidate must meet the following criteria:
1. Must demonstrate a basic awareness and eagerness to learn about digital rights and Internet Governance.
2. Must show interest in joining ICANN, AFRINIC, ISOC, and or the Internet Governance and Policy ecosystem.
3. Selection will be made on the basis of submitted expression of interest, and taking into account the eligibility criteria stated above.
