As Head of Department, I am honoured to lead this compassionate cornerstone within the School of Health Sciences, where we mould skilled carers ready to touch lives amid Africa’s pressing health demands. Guided by Seventh-day Adventist principles, our programmes fuse clinical mastery, ethical compassion, and holistic wellness, preparing you to deliver exceptional care in diverse settings from hospitals to rural clinics.
Our offerings, including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, and Diploma in Midwifery, emphasise evidence-based practice, simulation labs, community health outreaches, and partnerships with the Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Examination Board. Through advanced training in patient-centred care, maternal-child health, and public health emergencies, we equip you to lead with resilience, empathy, and spiritual insight.

Duration of the Programme
The Department of Nursing & Midwifery offers programs with structured durations aligned with Uganda’s health education standards, emphasizing hands on clinical training and ethical care. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery each span 4 years (8 semesters), integrating coursework, simulation labs, and supervised clinical rotations for comprehensive preparation in patient care and maternal health. Our Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery run for 3 years (6 semesters), focusing on foundational skills for immediate practice, while the Certificate in Nursing and Certificate in Midwifery are condensed into 2 years (4 semesters) for entry-level roles. Flexible full-time and blended options support diverse learners.
