Bugema University experienced a lively and memorable evening on Thursday, March 19th, as students gathered for the Freshers’ Ball, an event organized to officially welcome new students into university life. The celebration brought together freshers and continuing students in an atmosphere filled with music, creativity, and unity, marking an exciting beginning for the new intake and strengthening the sense of community on campus.
The Freshers’ Ball stood out as one of the most vibrant student events of the semester, made possible through the collaboration between the Bugema University Guild Government and NRG Radio, which came on board as the official sponsor. The partnership added a professional and energetic touch to the event, with high-quality sound, engaging DJs, and lively entertainment that kept students excited throughout the night. The presence of NRG Radio created a dynamic and youthful environment that many students appreciated, turning the campus into a center of celebration and interaction.
Speaking about the event, the Guild President noted that the Freshers’ Ball was organized to help new students feel welcomed and connected to the Bugema University community. He emphasized that the Guild Government remains committed to creating a supportive and engaging campus environment where students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. He also appreciated NRG Radio for partnering with the university and contributing to the success of the event, noting that such collaborations help improve student experiences and promote unity on campus.
One of the most anticipated moments of the evening was the Mr. and Miss Bugema University pageant, which attracted excitement and attention from students across the campus. During the ceremony, the outgoing Mr. Bugema University, Irumva Mapendo Joel, and Miss Bugema University, Musingya Kihokolo Ludess, officially handed over their crowns in a symbolic transition of leadership. The moment marked the end of their term and the beginning of a new leadership journey for the newly crowned Mr. Bugema University, Gloire Mutayomba Himbaza, and Miss Bugema University, Nzigire Machara Bernice, who will now serve as ambassadors of the university and represent student values throughout the year. The crowning moment was welcomed with loud applause and celebration, showing the support and pride of the Bugema University community.
The Freshers’ Ball also provided a platform for students to showcase their talents through different activities that kept the audience engaged. The music competition revealed impressive vocal performances from participants, highlighting the rich talent within the university, while the fashion show displayed creativity and confidence as students walked the runway in stylish and unique outfits.
