The campus came alive with joy and energy! On Thursday, April 16, 2026, Bugema University’s campus was full of excitement as students happily participated in the BUSA elections. In a real show of their democratic rights, they lined up to vote and choose the president who would support their needs and lead the student body for the 2026–2027 academic year.

In what many called one of the most active and well-run student votes in recent times at the chartered Seventh-day Adventist school near Kampala, thousands of students from different faculties came to the voting points on the main campus. From early morning until late in the day, the place was alive with campaign songs, lively talks, and a clear feeling of pride as students helped decide the future of their student leadership. The weather was good, and the energy stayed high all day long.

Many Students Voted, and the Process Was Peaceful

People who were there and live posts on campus social media showed the lively mood. Students, often wearing their faculty colors or campaign clothes, formed neat lines while talking about important school matters. The independent election team managed the voting well to keep it fair and open. There were no big problems, which showed the good behavior and maturity of Bugema University students.

Social media pages like BUGEMA HUB on TikTok and the university’s official accounts shared many videos of the day. They showed happy students, including first-time voters, proudly giving their votes. Talks focused on key issues like better hostel rooms, stronger internet in hostels, support for mental health, more sports activities, and fair voice for both local and international students. Some students also spoke about the need for more clubs, better food services, and help with job skills after studies.

Before the main election day, there was strong competition. Videos showed campaigns between Lubega Festo and other candidates like Opande. Students shared their views online and asked others to vote. Even though the elections faced a short delay earlier due to some issues, everything went smoothly on April 16.
